Ink Tank Printers are printers that uses ink to print color and letters on to a page. This does not use a laser, nor heat to burn the image on the page, but instead relies as the name suggests – ink. While one can import ink cartridge printers, ink tank printers are more cost effective, and a better solution with compared with ink cartridges. When filled to the fill line, one can expect with regular use for 1 year of ink before having to buy more bottles of ink. The bottles of ink is also so much cheaper than ink cartridges which is good for those that do a lot of printing or on a tight budget.
Ink Tank printers should use pigment type ink, but this is not a requirement. There will be 4 different color tanks that the printer will need to use, and the printer must be able to function for text printing even if the only color available is black. This is another advantage that would be over ink cartridge printers. Since all printers must support RJ45-100MBPS, this will mean that multiple machines on the same network will be able to use the one printer – therefore increasing the versatility.
