The current telephone standard will be depreciated. There will be no more repairs, and renovation work will require the telephone cable to be stripped. As one may guess, new construction will not have telephone lines. With that said, there are 2 options. The first is cellular which is what most people are used to. They will take their phone with them, and therefore can always be reached. Then there is the terrestrial lines. This is where the removal of telephone lines will be impacted. These telephones will be replaced with SIP phones which will plug into an RJ45-100MBPS or better cable. With this in mind, instead of relying on the old RJ11 or telephone jack for communications, one will plug into an ATA or acquire a SIP phone – therefore making it more functional.
