Docking Station

Since the notebook PC is so common, and the personal device for most people, it would make sense to have a docking station. The docking station can be either closed or open. This is based on the lid position of the monitor. The monitor lid will be closed on closed docking stations, and open on open docking stations. For best compatibly, it will be recommended that the manufacturer builds and sell their docking stations. One of the main reasons for the desire of a docking station is to have desktop flexibility without having the need to purchase a desktop.

Closed docking stations will have an SD Card reader, and 2 USB-C ports in the front. In the rear, there will be 4 USB-C ports, and an RJ45 port. One of the USB-C ports will be thunderbolt, and therefore support for a USB-C to Display Port adapter. A display is vital since the notebook is closed. Open docking stations will be able to omit the front connections, but must have 6 USB-C ports in the rear as opposed to 4. There is also a demand for an RJ45 port for network connectivity.
