AiO

The AiO is an all in one PC. This means the monitor and computer is built into 1 frame. High end machines are usually as thin as possible to support the monitor, and host the motherboard. With that said, the AiO can have some relaxed requirements when it comes to repairability. One might find an AiO in homes, or offices where someone that needs to use a computer regularly might find value in a AiO. Since the computer is built into the monitor, there is no additional machine to support.

All AiOs must have a monitor of at least 20″ and a ppi of 300. Acceptable ratios are 16:9, or 8:5. The screen must also have at least a 90hz refresh rate. The reason for the higher requirements, is one can not simply replace the monitor if it doesn’t meet to their liking. Because of the ultra thin profile, storage, and memory is allowed to be soldered to the motherboard. However, minimum requirements still apply. This will include 16GB of memory, and 128GB storage. Next, the AiO must have 4 USB-C ports in the rear, and 2 in the front. They must also have an SDXC card reader in the front or side. The webcam must be at least 13MP, and must have a physical shutter for privacy. Ethernet is optional, but advisable. If there is no ethernet port, then the manufacturer must provide a USB-C to ethernet adapter and also support Wifi-6.
