All new TVs must be a flat panel of either 8:5 or 16:9 aspect ratio. No new TV will have a coaxial port. This is because coaxial is considered as obsolete, and replaced with IPTV capabilities. There will be 2 types of TVs. The first is a basic TV. This is a TV without a smartTV platform installed, and will. require an HDMI to plug in the choice smartTV device into it. All adapters must have an RJ45 port to connect to the WAN to provide for television.
Since the television air-waves will be dismantled, there will be no need for any antennas, and they will no longer work. This will also mean that OTA DVRs such as Tablo will no longer work since there will be no OTA network to collect to. If one wishes to watch TV, they will need a suitable internet connection. All ISPs must provide for an affordable price for internet services – even for someone that is only receiving GBI.
